This post is officially a Tuesday post, because I'm just staying up late. Group meetings. Again. Forever. Actually, I skipped out after my group started singing the theme for Cheers (where everybody knows your name... la la la) and chasing each other around Goodes.
Why do people sing in public when they're tired, anyways? (Thea, this doesn't apply to you, as you sing in public irregardless of any other environmental and internal conditions.)
Which brings me to another point: in commerce you don't actually learn anything specific. You learn to "manage" and to write reports using big words. After substantial analysis, it has become apparant that a state of sustainable improvement and long-term added value in the area of academics and applied knowledge is merely a surface goal in the process under review, whereas the driving forces created by the current internal and external "market" trends are operating contrary to the ultimate mission and vision of the Commerce Honours Degree Program. You see? Sounds impressive, but it's actually a very simple point. Not that all my courses are like that. Just the required ones. I recommend fewer required "introductory" or "summary" courses and more "skills-based" and "pure theory" courses. And I know... always write the recommendations first. However, I "considered my audience" and you all read my rambles on a semi-regular basis, so I don't think you're all that picky on form anyway.

I GOT MY LSAT MARKS BACK! Sorry about the all caps but I'M IN THE 92nd PERCENTILE! I'm also on top of the world. :)
Thanks to everyone who helped me (particularly with the not freaking out beforehand). Wow. I have no words for how amazing I feel right now.

Ok, so OWWWWW! Stupid 5-hour rehearsals. Anyway. We're playing Dvorák 4 next, which is so much fun. Also the Brahms violin concert and Overture to the Magic Flute. It's a much more fun concert than the last one. Diana and I went to Epicure for lunch at the break, and although the service was ridiculously slow (not as slow as the QP -- nothing beats that -- but definately not what I would call reasonable), the food was good, and CHEAP! I had two eggs, hash browns, three pieces of bacon, a croissant, and a cup of tea for $4.23!
After the break, we had to change into concert clothes for the second half of the rehersal, because some magazine or other is doing "a spread" on the KSO, and they had to take pictures. I think it's some free publication that comes with the Whig, or something, so I'm going to have to see if I can get a copy. (I doubt I will actually be in the pictures, since the lights were directly behind me, but it will still be fun to have.) I always used to think people who complained about the hassles of having pictures taken during rehearsals were just being annoying, but it's SO true! It's impossible to play Magic Flute while the flash is going off at odd times and people are moving massive ladders right beside your head. I was ready to kick them off the stage long before Glenn finally did.
So that was my day so far. Now I have a group meeting to go to, and then I need to clean my room a bit before my dad gets here. (Not that he usually cares, but I don't think he's ever seen it this bad -- I know I haven't!) I can't believe it's daylight savings time already. Yeay for one more hour of sleep, but my goodness, exams are getting close!

I really want to eat a peanut, but then I'll have to get juice, and I don't want to get up to get juice. *sigh* Sometimes my laziness works against me.

I know, it has been a ridiculously long time since I have blogged. It has also been a ridiculously long time since I have gotten a decent amount of sleep, so I have an excuse. I have been doing so much work that I surprise myself. (My mom would be so proud!)
Wow, I really need to get some sleep. I don't even know what to write. Lots of stuff happened last week. I did the Gershwin concert. It went well, although I didn't like it because it was too easy. Went grocery shopping with Harold and Eva, which was my big day out, since I also had lunch with Eva. (Windmills has saved my sanity yet again.) I spent the weekend in the Capitol at the Museum of Civilization looking at the Canadiana exhibit, and then I dealt with horses on Sunday (most of you know why that's such a big deal for me). Stayed up late working with Bubbles.
Oh, and today I got locked in a break-out room with six commies. Ack! And one of our profs came along as we were banging on the window to get someone's attention, but he couldn't figure out how to get us out either (the door handle was missing, and someone shut the door, so we got locked in). Finally Chad Leddy (group member) picked the lock with my harp-room key (the only one wide enough) and we escaped. It was a close call there, though. Trapped in a tiny room with six commies and an unfinished group project is NOT a good situation to be in!

Ah, Thanksgiving weekend! I spent the entire day yesterday sleeping! Well, except for the impromptu midnight whiskey and cheese party I had with my brother. The decadence was unbelievable!
And today, it continues! I went shopping, for the first time in what feels like ages, AND I got to read a new book. I even have another new book to read tonight. *sigh* The joy of it all. It even makes what work I did do seem not so bad. *contented sigh*
Tomorrow morning is breakfast with friends, then Thanksgiving dinner. Monday includes desserting with friends, and I'm not going back to school until Tuesday. I think four days in a row with no stress is going to spoil me.

Grr.... we SHOULD have won the Olympics, but we didn't, because my prof is annoying. He said that one group (note: the first time EVER in the history of doing the assignment) answered all the questions right... and since we're the only group that answered all of them, it had to be us ... BUT that the descriptions of the logic behind the answers wasn't good enough, so he couldn't give them the prize. We came in FOURTH!! Argh! And some stupid team that only got four out of nine questions right came in first. Makes me SO mad.
Anyway. The rest of my day was good. I got to listen to Mahler 9 this morning, and then we sang and conducted each other in conducting class (a rather nice Kyrie and a Sanctus), and then we conducted, for memory, Eine Kleine. As annoying as the piece is to continually have to play, it was fun conducting it because I was the only one who seemed to know it well enough to cue things like dynamics, and the rest of the class was impressed, and that always makes me feel good. Oh, and I got to tell my Beethoven 5 story (about the conductor in Korea) and everyone died laughing, which was a nice change from commerce classes where there is less comraderie.
Meh. It STARTED out as a good day, anyways. Now I'm off to rehearsal. Gershwin. Then it's home for Thanksgiving.

Last night was fun. Ok, so not fun, but long anyways. I suppose seeing the sunrise was nice -- or it would have been if I hadn't been working for the past twelve hours. Gotta love all-nighters. Or hate them. I always those two things mixed up (darn you, GW filters!).
Despite the annoyance of the assignment, however, my class was fun. We had the Problem-Solving Olympics in class -- bunches of logic puzzles, and each team was competing against the other teams. The good news is, we got all of the questions right (except the last one wasn't taken up in class, so I don't know if it was right or not), so we have a pretty good shot at winning the free mugs. Thank you LSATs for making me practice logic puzzles! I don't know how long it will take for the "official results" to be completed, but I'll try to keep everyone posted on that.
Which leaves my last problem to solve for today. I am pretty close to running out of food (well, meat-type food) and I have a choice between shopping for more, or ordering in enough to last me today and tomorrow, because after that I will be in T-dot. If I buy food now, it will probably go bad by the time I'm back from thanksgiving. However, take-out or delivery food is more expensive than grocery food. (Factoring in the laziness factor, though, I think I'll probably end up going with delivery.) Your opinions are appreciated, as always.
There's good news and bad news. The good news is, my site is very popular and lots of people are commenting. The bad new is, SquawkBox wants me to pay for continued comment service, so it's back to square one. Hello Haloscan. :)
Also, the LSATs have been written. And that's all I'm saying about it, until I get the mark back, but I don't think I messed up too badly, so I'm not so stressed anymore.
Good thing I remembered that London is on the way back from Windsor, huh Thea? Great seeing you. Thanks for the hugs! Next time remind me to bring the extra cookies out of the car. See you again next weekend -- breakfast and dessert.

You know you're stressed when...
your violin teacher gives up on the idea of having a lesson and instead makes you do relaxation therapy for the last ten minutes. Best ten minutes of my whole week, though. I've stopped climbing up the walls and having barely-controllable urges to punch people.
