This is a quick catch-up post. I've been incredibly busy and somewhat sick lately, so that's why I'm so late doing it.
Thursday - I graduated. Very exciting. Got some free stuff, some money, and a diploma. None of you were there.
Friday - I had the work day from hell. 70 phone calls. *shudder*
Saturday - Spent the day at the OSCC final meeting. One good thing sorted out. One really bad thing to be fixed. Strategy meetings will likely follow.
Sunday - Went to dim sum with friends. (Thanks again for the invite and the ride.) SOOOOO yummy. Lots of fun. Ate too much, went home, had a nap, woke up and felt horrible (not because of the food, but because this cold has finally caught up to me). Watched some dvds to compensate and didn't get my reports done.
Today - am in the office early to write reports. Have some cheques to cut (Phalse, one of them is for you. You get to decide how you're going to pick it up.) and will hopefully get my post-meeting reports out today.
Ok, all caught up? Good. I'll try to be better this week.

Graduation is tomorrow! I can hardly believe it. However, before then, I still have to finish work today, and there's the concert tonight. I also had a "lunch meeting" with $ and got my formal picture back, and went to court this morning. A few frustrations, but not caused by anything that has to do with court itself, so that's easily forgotten. Clearing off my desk now, so that people can find things if they need them while I'm GRADUATING!!!

Just a quick blog to say "Happy Birthday Blog!" It's one year old as of yesterday. Also 153 posts, at last count. Thanks to everyone who has read all of them. Those of you who haven't.... why haven't you? Get reading! lol

I won an award! Can you believe it?! For "combining high academic standing with significant achievement in the performing arts." Guess I'm going to be writing alot of thank you letters tonight. *happy*

In today's legal news:
1) I just got a bunch of cases on my desk dealing with SARS in Toronto. Once again, I am seeing how the law reflects the major events of society. (Last year it was the gay marriage case - Div Court to Appeal.)
2) Two lawyers were actually going to go to trial to argue over $5000 -- for six days!!! I think six days of court time would be a bit more expensive than $5000.
3) Air Canada is once again in deep negotiations due to a judge I have met. Fame by association is so fun.

Here's something strange... people are actually posting on the GW Forum again. In the middle of summer, after most of a school term with nothing remotely interesting on it.

That was one busy weekend. First I went shopping for shirts with Thea. Very frustrating exercise -- stores just don't carry my size of shirts anymore. I bought a great-looking skirt, though, for 1/2 price! After that we ate chinese at Nathan Phil, and watched some ethnic dancing. Japanese, I think, from the style of dress and the fact that the steps are somewhat different than the Chinese dance I used to do.
The evening was A Night of Improv, with Eva, Todd, and MT. We met at Second Cup so that everyone could meet, at which point MT and Todd went off on a few computer-topic tangents. Walked over to Con Hall to see the Whose Line Cast! (Except for "the tall guy, the rich guy, and the black guy." *grin*) If anyone thinks they edit the show to make it funnier, we can now tell you that they don't. I laughed so hard I was crying! I'm sure you'll hear about it from Eva, too.
To complete my weekend, I spent the morning waiting at a walk-in clinic -- ugh. Had just enough time to get changed for my concert. Picked MT up, and off we were with our instruments, etc. The concert was ok. I played well, anyway, and I'm sure MT did. Going back to a student-level orchestra from the KSO is kind of annoying. Still, at least they picked good music. Lots of Tchaik. :)
Went home, took a tylenol and went to bed, and THAT was my weekend.

I wasn't going to complain about work anymore, but then the computers went down and I had to sit here for 3 hours with no internet and no way of doing any work (not that I had any work to do). So now I have to complain again. Fortunately, they're back up, so I CAN complain. Aren't you glad?
I really need to recharge my Palm batteries, though. I just played solitare on it for 3 hours. Hmmm... lunch will be over in 5 minutes. I think I'll play a game or something until then.

What's with you people? Here I am, being bored to death with my lack of work, and no one is blogging or commenting to entertain me during my slow hours? Let's pick up the pace! *grin*
Update:
Had a party in the office today. Am still trying to get my login and security pass. Things are almost as slow as the computers! Baked cookies yesterday -- very yummy.

I'm back at work, and right in the swing of things. Haven't got my paperwork done yet, or my computer account reinstated, or my security pass or any of that. For those of you who are used to me sending copius e-mails during the summer, I'll send you all an e-mail from work as soon as my e-mail at work works. If that makes any sense. *grin*
Before I get any more complaints about not blogging last week, I'll remind everyone that I had no internet for four days while at the classics conference. I have a few pictures, so ask if you want some. The conference went pretty well. I got yelled at once for something that had nothing to do with me, but that was a significant improvement over last year where I was yelled at continuously by multiple people during the entire conference. We had our usual problem schools, and a few major programming errors to sort out, but nothing too bad considering the registration program was completely redone. Almost made it to dinner on time (thanks to the fact that dinner was delayed). Now I get to write my reports before the final meeting.
Best conference memories: suicide pizza (pepperoni, italian sausage, ground beef, bacon strips, jalopeno peppers, red peppers, red onions, extra cheese), finally getting to see a conference event, after seven years!

Today was a vacation day! Finally! I got a haircut, bought a shoulder-rest, and made a huge pot of spaghetti sauce.
Apparently marks are up, so I should check that tomorrow. Hopefully tomorrow will be a celebration day, too. Just in case, I've got the bottle of dark rum one of my dad's clients brought him from Jamaica. ;)

I went shopping today to buy some much-needed suits to replace the ones with holes in them. Guess what? I bought a pair of size ONE pants that FIT! Very exciting. Unfortunately, pretty much every store in the mall decided that it wasn't going to have clothes smaller than size 5, so it was a somewhat frustrating day, but I got some mix-n-match-able stuff that should be enough to get me through one more summer of work. (Might have to go back for shirts later, but we'll see how that goes.)
Now to make my OSCC costume, and I'm all set.

I don't think I like vacations very much. So far I have been up late every night working. I spent most of today working, too, sorting certificates and things for the classics conference. Also, our cat died this week, which was very sad. All in all, I think I had more fun while I was working/studying than I have this week.
