Ever tried going to court when you've lost your voice? It's interesting. I think I must have sounded very strange. At any rate, today started early (since I got a ride to work - yay! - because I'm still sick), plus an extra meeting in the afternoon (because of the holiday tomorrow) so you'd think I'd be much worse off, work-wise, than I am. However, I am the Queen of Data Entry, and so far I'm keeping up *knock on wood*. Friday will be interesting. Hopefully my voice will be back, since I have a bunch of calls to make. Or, actually, hopefully it WON'T be back, so I can make someone else do them. *plots evilly* 45 minutes left today and I'm getting a ride home. Sleeping ALL DAY tomorrow. Looking forward to it.

Applying for OSAP is the worst time of year. Even worse than tax-time. At least with taxes, after going over all your expenses and your tiny amount of income, you can look forward to getting a cheque. *sigh*
Owing lots of money so far. The good news is tuition is lower than I expected for first year. The bad news is I'm earning less next year (unless I get a hint that I'll get my TA job back), so I'll still be borrowing quite a bit. I'm going to be SO heavily in debt when I finish. I have to admit, this knowledge has somewhat influenced my voting decision (which I'm doing tonight after work).
At any rate, happy voting everyone, and for those of you going over your finances for school next year, don't get too depressed. At least you can be secure in the knowledge that there's always someone who owes (or will owe) more. As RG says "I'm pulling for you. We're all in this together."

As pointed out recently, I am overdue for blogging again. I'll try to summarize.
Went to a party for the weekend. Slept alot. Ate alot. Drank ALOT of rum. Discovered that I still don't get hangovers, which I suppose is a good thing, since I had to get back to work after the weekend.
Went to a memorial service for Archbishop Scott. Don't really have words to explain at the moment. Am taking Tuesday morning off at work for the funeral.
Went to see Stepford Wives with my mom, followed by dinner out on a patio restaurant and book-shopping. Picked up a copy of Samarkand, which I have been dying to read. Two poems in it that I particularly like, so it was worth the money. SW, btw, is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. Particularly the MicroSoft crack.
Weekend meetings were cancelled, so I spent the rest of my week goofing off instead of writing reports. Guess what I'm doing this weekend. *sigh* Also picked up a somewhat annoying cold from somewhere, so I'm very stuffed up and dehydrated, which makes work kind of annoying today. Good thing it's Friday. Back to phone calls (ick) and then not long until the weekend.

Awwww... I was just about to beat my all time record on a game when someone walked past my desk with a ladder, and accidently pulled out the power supply to my computer. *sigh*
In other news: had lunch with J today -- fettuccini in a dill cream sauce with smoked salmon. Am going to a party this weekend and will therefore have no internet access from 8pm tonight until some time Sunday night, so don't expect any blogging until Monday. Will at least have something fun to talk about on Monday. :)

I finally got to see Shrek 2. I went with my dad after work (that is to say, after finishing my work, and going to his office and doing more work there), and he cried in the sad parts, and I laughed really hard. I feel so much better than I did a few days ago (stress-wise, anyway). Then today, I bought ANOTHER new book! I'm going to be broke but happy, at this rate. That's it for awhile, though. I am banning myself from all book stores for at least a week. (This is what I get for working right near a mall and owning a credit card.) Well, back to reading books... I mean working. *grin*

Been really sick lately. Went to the choir party today, and had everyone worried that I was going to keel over or something along those lines. Didn't realize I looked that bad, although dad says I don't -- I just look "wan." Wasn't this tired when I pulled 4 all-nighters in a row in 2nd year. Guess I can't take a nap at work tomorrow, so hopefully I'll be better by then. Unless you know where I can find a body double on short notice? Caffiene pills maybe? Electric shock therepy?

I think I must be a strange person. Last Friday, I had what felt like a million phonecalls, and hated every second of that day. This Friday, I answered over 100 faxes and had a wonderful time. (There's something very fulfilling about working through a huge stack of papers like that. The sense of progress and accomplishment is great.) Next week is going to be fun. I'm doing a job I've never done before (I wrote the manual to explain how to do it, but I've never actually done the job) and most of it will be faxes and updating calendars. The only phones I have to answer are general inquiries, which means no voicemails! Yay!

So, I went to dinner with M & boyfriend, $ and MotivatedTea for a post-grad celebratory dinner. Ate alot of very yummy food, and talked alot about very fun things. Ran into someone MT knows from school, which was interesting. (I didn't know anyone else in our neighbourhood ever went to that place.) Spent the rest of the evening at home, mostly lying on my bed in my room in front of the fan being hot. Well, at least I get a chance to wear all my new short skirts.
Oh yes. And my hair is dyed, although not so much that anyone would notice. Just a bit lighter for summer (so that I can pretend that I have spent some time outside enjoying the sun).

Today was NOT a good day. However, with any luck, I will lose what's left of my voice (started croaking around lunchtime) and I can stay home tomorrow. Probably won't be that lucky, though.

I am officially declaring a ban on all phones. I can't avoid them at work, but I promise I will NOT speak to you if you call me. I apologize for the inconvenience, but I'M GOING INSANE!!!! Thank you for your understanding and co-operation.
(PS - I love computers. They are my friends. They have things like msn and e-mail and blogs, and all sorts of other nice non-insane-human-contact-type things. *contented sigh*)
Well, it's Wednesday again. Court went fairly well, although it was VERY fast, which made it difficult to keep up. Talked to the lawyer who looks like Quantum Skyline again, but still don't know his name. Data entry is on the list for this afternoon, plus prep for tomorrow's meeting.
Mom and dad came home yesterday, which was exciting. We have a leak in the pipes, so the plumbers were over to fix that, and ripped a HUGE hole in the bathroom wall and ceiling -- told the parents when they came home "Remember how you said no wild parties?.... Ooops." *grin* (Too bad the leak STILL isn't fixed!)
Had rehearsal yesterday evening for the Summer Fair. Anyone who doesn't know about that and will be in Toronto this weekend and wants to go, drop me a line and I'll e-mail you the time and place. We have a new soprano this year. I'm assuming she was so quiet at rehearsal because it was all new music, in which case we'll be fine on Sat. If not... well, we should be able to find Taddy for extra support, or I suppose we could all sing really REALLY quietly. lol.
Song that is currently stuck in my head: Pastime (BOOM buhbuh BOOM buhbuh)
A lawyer's primer: If you don't have the law, you argue the facts; if you don't have the facts, you argue the law; if you have neither the facts nor the law, then you argue the Constitution. -- ?
