No. Nnnnnnnnnnnnno. No no no. Thanks very much for asking, but no. Gee I'd love to, but I really can't. How nice of you to think of me, but I'm afraid I'm to busy right now. *runs screaming in terror* No. No. No. No.

Just practicing. *sigh*

You know your torts class has gotten off track when...

- the hypothetical situation a student comes up with is: is it provocation if a guy sees someone dresseed like a Klingon walking down the street and slaps him, because his wife was assaulted a year ago by a Klingon?

*sigh*

Just a quick catch-up on my weekend. I had rehearsal on Saturday, including lunch with my new group of violin/viola friends at a place called Lukes. It was ok, for a sandwich place. Dinner was with FF, since she wanted to celebrate due to Yom Kippur, but it was late because she went to service first. Got lots of leftovers from that, because she doesn't eat leftovers.

Also got some chocolate. Unfortunately, it was American chocolate, which is pretty odd when you're used to European -- it was almost like candy.

The concert on Sunday went well. I was very happy with how I played, and I heard some great comments afterwards, as did my favourite gossip mole in the section, who missed her bus and hung out at the reception afterwards.

Auditioned for QSO yesterday, and did well, of course. I have already told them I'm not coming to rehearsals this term, and they seem ok with that. Concerts in March this year instead of January, so we'll see how much of a time committment that turns out to be.

Guess who practiced today? I can now play all of the notes in Sunday's concert. We'll find out in rehearsal tomorrow if I can do them consistently (there are one or two really scary shifts), but I think I can.

DON'T wish me luck, unless it's bad, please and thank you.

And if you have free time, MotivatedTea, can you build that device you were thinking of at one point that zaps other people's insensitively loud speakers? The people living across from my window believe in horribly loud parties with bad music and lots of shouting. *sigh*

Does anyone other than me think that THIS is a bad thing? *in shock*

Pretty much everyone knows this by now, but I bought Sims2 on Thursday! It is really great, although much harder than the original. The graphics in particular are amazing, and there is alot more to the plot in general and the overall goals of the game. They fixed the time problem, btw, so it take a normal amount of time to get up and ready in the morning, and my favourite feature so far is that when Sims learn cooking skills, they actually learn new recipies for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! Possibly dessert, too, but I haven't had my Sims try that out yet. (I don't want them to get fat, and anyway, with the two kids -- one child, one toddler -- they're kind of too busy for sweets anyway.) Side note: pregnant Sims have morning sickness and mood swings!

On to my real news. Classes continue to be interesting, althought the readings are still very heavy. Most people agree with me that Public is very hard and confusing, but I seem to be doing extremely well in Contracts and Property. Torts is torts, so it's bound to be a bit messy, but the concepts are all clear so far, even if we are doing it backwards.

I went to the Law Semi last night. It was nice to start with. I got dressed up (although less so than I was planning, because all the girls I talked to were stressed about not having dresses, and the general consensus was that less formal was better). I did wear a skirt and sparkly top, and had a bit of fun with some creative make-up, though, so that felt pretty good. Plus I wore my current favourite pair of shoes. I talked to the few people I know, as well as the Dean and my criminal prof (who thinks all other areas of law aren't fun, and civil lit is frustrating because just when it's about to get interesting, they "F-ing settle!" *grin*), as well as a few people that the few people I know knew. I had to leave fairly early, though, because the DJ kept turning the volume up every half song. Tried going outside for some air to ditch the headache, but it was too cold, and the headache came back as soon as I went back in anyway.

Now I'm having a slightly bad day, because I had alot of things planned, but I just got up (due to painkillers) and am really behind, so I'm going to miss a chamber concert I wanted to see. It was a good week, though, so I'm sure I'll have fun on Monday again.

Don't you just hate it when your jawbreakers keep breaking? Everyone knows you're not supposed to chomp them, but somehow they keep getting chomped! *sigh* Guess I'd better switch to Cheesies instead.

I have been told that my blog is boring. Humpf. So I'm supposed to post something interesting now. Umm.... so.... I worked all last night and didn't go out clubbing with everyone else. That's not interesting, though, 'cause it's pretty normal.

I know! I got a call from my sis! We talked about stuff. She's doing lots of fun courses, like drumming, and she goes to the beach and swimming alot down where the weather is nice, and hangs with famous people and people with lots of money and nice stuff who own cars. *grin* Guess I'm back to living vicariously.

Maybe if I got a co-author? lol

General news first:
went to dinner with Eva and QuantumSkyline. Moved my harp in and went to lunch and dinner with MotivatedTea and Dad. Practiced my violin for TWO HOURS today (everyone please take note of the fact that I am being good).

Onto the real reason for today's post. For those of you with interests in the OSCC, our favourite archivist has read the suggested constitutional changes (particularly the removal of the "consultant" position) and would like a copy of the original 1997 document. You would think (as MT pointed out) that he would have a copy. However, I am faxing a copy to MR and to MB tomorrow.

I will also at some point in the next few weeks be sending around an e-mail with suggested agenda items. Obviously the important one will be the "annual review" of the consultant position. I'm also going to try to get the contact list updated (easier to do in person, since we can't e-mail people who aren't on the e-mail list). If you can think of anything else that needs discussing, please drop me a line.

Had some very nice scotch today. And a good buddy boat cruise, with good company (thanks FF).

Went to Chez P with Eva, and had a great dinner, ok wine, and chocolate mousse (adjective understood). Also got a wonderful mug in honour of my recently-passed b-day and got to have a dress review prior to next week's semi-formal.

Funny, how all my stress from the past few days has now disappeared. I owe you one, and thanks a million!! (Not a million dollars. I don't actually have that kind of cash. I could give you a million Simoleons, though, if you'd like that instead.)

Let me know re: the shopping trip.

Time for sleep now, since I have 8:30s tomorrow. Hugs to everyone.

Note to self: Never expect to post regularly during orientation. Things have been crazy-busy, and I'm running out the door in a few minutes again, but I figured I owed my regulars a few updates. My life in brief: 1) Got a full glass of ice water poured down my back at dinner last night, in front of my orientation group. 2) Met the closest thing to MotivatedTea on the first day, who is living half a block down and in one of my classes. 3) Walked and walked and walked and walked and walked. And I think I also walked a bit. 4) Bought my books. Less expensive than commerce, although some people have been complaining. 5) Met my profs. Met my upper year buddy. Learned that my life will be reading, briefs, outlines, and 100% finals. Ok. Now I guess I'll go and walk some more, because I'm sure I haven't done enough of that lately! *abounding sarcasm*

I'm back! Back from vacation and back in rez, that is. I have a room exactly like last year, except it has windows that open and close (that's new from summer renovations) and that don't have bars on them, and my room also has a view.

My bookshelf has migrated to my permanent residence, so I bought a new one today. Just finished building it. I love building furniture, BUT this time it was slightly frustrating because I didn't have screwdrivers or a hammer, all of which were required in the construction of the bookshelf. Fortunately, I have a Swiss Army knife (See? They really are useful!) and my don's husband had a hatchet, which is now sitting on my desk. As usual, building fail-safe furniture in kits involving me in some manner proved not to be fail-safe, and to be extremely creative. (Anyone remembering a certain bed? *grin*)

Still have some unpacking to do, but need a short break. Maybe I'll look up my orientation schedule, and test out my new USB printer cable.
