So, it turns out that my week after exams was actually busier than my week during exams. *grin* That's ok. I have been getting an unbelievable amount of stuff done, so overall things are good.

Last Saturday I went home to see a concert with MotivatedTea. For anyone who likes classical music and hasn't heard a dulcian, you really really should. There was one featured in the concert and I think it's the coolest instrument ever. I mean, really, what could be better than a baroque precursor to the bassoon that sounds like a sax. *grin* Anyway, it was a great concert, so thanks MT for taking me.

I spent most of the rest of the week rehearsing or practicing, and working on conference stuff. Other than that I finished up all the things I had to put off during exams and while I was sick. In fact, there was so much to do that I ended up accidentally pulling two all-nighters. (I sat down after work to get a few things done, forgot the time, and only noticed again when it was after 7am).

On Wednesday, M's husband very kindly drove me to the mall so that I could by Sims 2 Seasons (thanks Eclipzes), which was my treat for myself for finishing this term without getting extensions, especially after all the health problems. While I was there, I also saw another two games at a very very low price, so I bought them too. I don't normally impulse-buy but these were games that I knew I would end up getting eventually and wouldn't see at that price again any time soon. After that, we went to M's new office, so I got to see where she works, and we went out for an early dinner before I had to go to work. It was fun, but also sad because I won't see nearly as much of them once I move back home.

Yesterday was a good day. I got everything on my to do list done (that never happens!) and on top of it, I picked up my grad composits, a free bottle of wine, and received notice that I'm getting a second bottle of wine on Monday. See everybody? Volunteering for all the extra stuff I do does pay off! (I'm also getting a free lunch on Monday.)

Now all I have to do is the concert tomorrow, recording sessions next week, more conference stuff, rehearse for Supersis's recital next month, pack and move. All by Thursday. Piece of cake.

Guess who just finished a law degree?

I have decided that I dislike it when profs get you worked up about an interesting topic so that you come up with enough material to write a book, and then give you a strict 3500 word limit. I have NO idea how I'm going to fit my arguments for this paper into 3500 words. Help!

I survived until Saturday! Surprised myself. lol. The dress rehearsal and concert are done, as is the essay, which finished in the nick of time, followed by the arbitration and the potluck (yay for mom doing all my cleaning and cooking for that!). I can't answer questions about how the concert went because I haven't had time to sit down and think about it. You can ask MotivatedTea, though. He was there. :)

My last QSO party *sniff*. Very sad. I don't want to think about it yet. In happier news, the potluck was great. 8 people drank almost 4 bottles of wine, and 2 of them left early, so they didn't help much. lol. We had two profs there and almost all my favourite section 1 people (none of the ones I don't like to spend lots of time with). There were somewhat drunken closing arguments for mock trials presented and waaaaaaaay too much food and the party went fairly late considering everyone had something they had to do or somewhere they needed to be the next day, so I rate it as a great success.

My former standpartner's wedding was today. I had a mild breakdown about what to wear, so thanks to Eclipzes and Quantum Skyline for helping me choose an outfit and letting me complain about men not having to wear dresses (respectively). I got several compliments on my outfit, and even better I still haven't broken the "my conductor has never seen me in the same dress twice" streak, so I consider that a success. The wedding was lovely and I have never seen her look happier. My favourite moment was probably during their first dance, where the love was radiating through the room to the point that all the couples at my table also got lovey-dovey. It was sweet.

One paper, one exam, one concert, one recording, one move to go, and it will be the end of April. My chances of making it through to the end of this degree are looking up. (Not talking about marks. Talking about physically surviving. *grin*)

I lied about posting news yesterday, but then, you all knew I wasn't going to get it done, didn't you? lol

Anyway, here are all the things I have been doings since I posted last:
1) March 17th - went to J and N's birthday party! Happy Birthday and St Paddy's Day! It was great to see people from grade/highschool again and I stayed out way later than I had planned and had to stay up all night to catch up on what I was supposed to be doing, but it was worth it.
2) March 18th - went back to the apartment to get picked up for rehearsal in Bville. I hate the chairs there. Started up my back problems again.
3) March 20th - did my legal ethics presentation. Went fine. Did my labour law seminar, went way over time, but I had so much to say! I don't think too many people minded, because it was a very unusual labour topic. Went to Lawlapalooza and spent the night not drinking, watching my violin and losing my hearing. Playing was fun, though, if short and the videos were hilarious. Best of all was socializing with the law folks, which I don't do nearly enough of.
4) March 23rd - KSO concert "Tribute to Hollywood". It was a great concert, although very work-intensive for the 1sts. M and husband came to see it. (The concert ticket was a b-day present for M's guy.) I think it was finally a concert with at least a few songs that M actually likes. :)
5) March 24th - Lawschool Formal. Went with BLaw as friend dates. Unfortunately, I wasn't feeling very well, so that put a bit of a damper on part of the night, but I did get a chance to talk to lots of people and do some dancing. We stayed out until the very end, too, although I will admit to napping at the table for the last 20 minutes.
6) March 25th - concert in Bville. Again with the chairs! Ow!
7) March 27th - visited M and husband.
8) March 30th - went home to see MotivatedTea's cello composition performed. Saw a whole bunch of people there! Loved the performance, and if you didn't go, you should have. Had horrible bus problems on the way back resuling in me only have 2 hours of sleep before going to work the next day (5 hour rehearsal). Wasted the rest of my weekend catching up on sleep instead of getting work done.
9) April 1st - KSO concert, heavy on the violins again, which I think was the last straw for my
shoulder. And I was so looking forward to a year with no muscle problems.
10) April 2nd - presided over a 2nd-year commerce arbitration. Was fairly impressed with both groups. Loved being back at Goodes and being the "experienced, knowledgable" one in the room. 11) April 3rd - mom came up to help me out while I finish a bunch of all-nighters and drive myself insane. Everyone else is coming up today for the concert.

So, what I have left to do. Dress rehearsal in 1/2 an hour, concert tonight (yes, it's the big solo, and yes I'm already starting to have pre-performance jitters), my last QSO orchestra party ever *sniff*, 30 page paper due tomorrow that I really should start writing soon, arbitration tomorrow at 5:30, potluck for Section1 hosted at my house at 7. Don't wish me luck; it's bad luck. Pictures will likely be available for all sorts of things some time this weekend.

I know it has been awhile since I posted. I will try to remedy that tonight. However, in the meantime, I have actually been keeping up with my legal ethics journal, which I notice no one has commented on in several months. It is due today, and I would really appreciate it if anyone who has free time would considering picking an entry at random and making a comment (if something relevant occurs to you). Thanks for the help. I will send more news and a proper entry later.
