For those of you who like to bug me about not posting frequently enough, I would like to point out that you obviously haven't been in contact with me lately, or you would have noticed the state-of-near-burnout I have been in the past few weeks... and therefore I retain the right to bug you back about not keeping up with friends. :P So there.

That being said, it is definitely time for an update, so here goes. Since my last post, I have:
1) met Jeans for lunch
2) had a Sushi Parti
3) crashed at M's and hubby's for a night (after a really expensive train ride -- my fault)
4) gone to a wedding shower (yay for me being useful!)
5) seen The Forbidden Kingdom with Min (even more yay for Jackie Chan + Jet Li + fight scene!!)
6) been told by my doctor that I need a vacation
7) officially gotten a job (it has been unofficial-despite-signed-contracts for several months now, but the announcement went out yesterday)
8) bought plane tickets for the vacation I was told to take

Hmmm... in retrospect, it looks like alot of free time and socializing, but the actual experience was more INSANESTRESSWORKWORKWORK, with brief periods of I need to get out and have human contact or I will go nuts in between. Plus I am now one of those irritating people who hauls out the cell phone, laptop and briefcase full of files, using modes of public transportation as a personal office. *sigh* Ah well. One week and one month to my vacation and counting.

As for what's coming up next, that would be: opera, national competition, conference (aka organizational nightmare for 2 days), wedding, seminar, seminar, opera, wedding + meeting + concert (in one day), wedding, ballet, and then VACATION TIME!!

Thanks to MotivatedTea, Jeans, Min, Quantum Skyline, M and M's hubby for assisting in maintaining what little sanity I have left. Best of luck to Bubbles on her interview results. Best wishes to my work colleage (of the first wedding) and my favourite housemate (of the last wedding) and looking forward to seeing Eclipzes, Quantum Skyline and SuperSis in the not-too-distant-future.

I just finished a concert, which was alot of fun. That's the good news. The bad news is that, given that it was a long day (choir rehearsal, church service, dress rehearsal/soundcheck, concert), I got a little overtired between the rehearsal and the concert and slipped on the floor; I landed on my right side and, although I slid down somewhat gracefully, I jarred my wrist just enough to make it very sore. It probably would have been fine if it hadn't been the wrist that is prone to tendonitis flare-ups. *sigh* So, naturally, I ignored it completely and played full-out for the concert anyway. I didn't really notice at the time, or not much, but boy do I feel it now! Looks like it's back to the wrist brace for a few days at least. After that, we'll have to see. I wonder how complicated it is going to make sushi on Wednesday. Wrist braces and chopsticks don't really mix.

Lots of new toys today. I finally got rid of my old phone company, which I would have done much sooner but haven't had the time, and now I have a new phone plan that does exactly what the old one did except it costs $10 less per month, I can hear people when they are talking to me on the phone, and if what I have heard from other people is true I may actually get some level of customer service when it is needed. So that is exciting.

I also have a new wireless mouse (thanks MotivatedTea), computer screen (with speakers), battery recharger, office phone, hole punch, hutch, filing cabinet, desk chair, desk, guest chairs, and best of all a DOOR! In other words, I have an office! It is still in a bit of a stage of flux, as there is a locked cabinet for which they are attempting to find a key, a cabinet, table and two chairs that belong to someone else who I am told will eventually be taking them away and four boxes of files that still need to be moved to somewhere other than the floor of my office, but in the meantime I have a door that shuts when I am on the phone and a place to put all my files other than on my desk. And it only took seven months (out of a ten month articling period) longer than they said it would take. lol.

A big thanks to MotivatedTea and my cousin (who is visiting for a few days while she studies for exams) for helping me move and hook up wires and clean out drawers.
